The story of bandes-storch.net
This website first started as a family website, with updates on our lives, photos, and some random little games I found on JavaScript websites. Over time, it evolved — well, no, it didn't really. It sat there stagnating for five years. Meanwhile, my coding skills went from simple HTML framesets, pasted-in premade JavaScript, and Flash tutorials to a very good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, more experience with Flash and ActionScript, and some other random languages that added to my ability to interpret code without knowing the language very well. After those five years, it was time for a redesign.
First, I went for the brushed metal look. The problem was that the only design I could come up with worked solely in Safari, because no other browser allowed multiple background images on one element. So I scrapped that. Another couple months passed. Then I started working on it, again starting from scratch, and what you see now was born. It's much shinier, unlike the old garish color scheme, and has a nice Google AJAX search and Flash portfolio (my own creation; it loads the items from an XML file, which I am quite proud of), plus a blog powered by WordPress. And, as a final touch, a slogan from Sloganizer on every page. Enjoy!
